South Iceland...the ideal short break in Iceland

The highlights are visited during your stay in the southern part of Iceland.  The hotels/guesthouses used on tour offer private facilities and are simple and clean.

Day 1  Reykjavik
Transfer from Keflavik airport to a guest house in Reykjavik. Balance of the day is at leisure.

Day 2  Pingvellir/Gullfoss/Geysir
Visit Pingvellir National Park, Gullfoss which is known as the Queen of Iceland's waterfalls and the nearby famous hot spring area of Geysir, arriving at your accommodation in the afternoon where you will stay for the next three nights.

Day 3  South Shore
Today you drive to Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls and also visit the Folk Museum at Skogar, one of the best fold museums in Scandinavia. then hed on for Vik village and to Solheimajokull where you can walk up the glacier.

Day 4  Pjorsardalur
Today drive through pasture land and valleys to Burfell past the hydro-electric power station. Drive close to Hekla, Iceland's mosst active volcano and visit the beautiful gorge Gjain and the Hjalparfoss waterfall.

Day 5  Reykjavik
Return to Reykjavik for a sightseeing tour. An optional tour to the Blue Lagoon is available in the afternoon. Accommodation for the next three nights in Reykjavik.

Day 6  and 7  Reykjavik
Free time in the capital with optional excursions available.

Day 8  Depart
Transfer to the airport for departure flight.

The tour includes accommodations on a twin share basis, all transportation, breakfast daily and listed sightseeing tours.

There are several self drive adventures for those who want to go it on their own. Route and accommodations are prearranged but you drive yourself, stopping enroute for your own visits.

Special interest tours are available as well as day tours from Reykjavik for those who want to stay put.
