Germany...

  Here is a suggested tour for Germany on a self-drive basis.

SOUTHERN GERMANY
Day 1   Arrive Frankfurt. Pick up your self drive car and proceed directly to Heidelberg for overnight.
Day 2   Tour Heidelberg in the morning. Then drive on to the Black Forest region, stopping at various sites enroute. Overnight in one of the small towns.
Day 3   Continue on to Stuttgart. Tour the city and overnight.
Day 4   On to Rothenburg for an overnight stay.
Day 5   Drive on down the romantic Road stopping to visit in the towns of Dinkelsbuhl, Nordlingen and Donauworth before arriving in Munich for overnight.
Day 6   Full day tour of Munich and surrounding area.
Day 7   Day tour to Oberammergau or Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Day 8   Day at leisure for more touring. Perhaps a visit to Fussen and the lakes region or a day trip to Berchtesgaden.
Day 9    Depart Munich

If time permits on your holiday, spend a little more time in the Black Forest region, stay longer along the Romantic Road, take a Rhine River cruise, visit Berlin and Potsdam or some of the cities in the former 'east'. Germany lends itself to the "module" system. Stay in one area and do day tours, then take the train or bus to another area and stay for a while. The possibilities are almost endless!
