                Information:
The incredible feature of Abu Simbel is that the Temples were
originally built on the river bank. With the construction of the
Aswan High Dam that built in the early 1960, the water level
rose and the temples would have been lost if it were not for the
Unesco project to resurrect the temples above the new high water
level. Unesco was moved to its present location 90 feet above
its old site to protect it.
