This is the finest cross country camping safari in Zimbabwe.
There is a high staff to guest ratio and takes a maximum of 8
guests. The safari visits all the best reserves along the
Zambezi Valley. activities and modes of transport are varied to
make the safari as stimulating as possible: land rovers,
aircraft transfers, boats, canoes and your own two feet will all
be put to use. all meals are included, except for lunch and
dinner at Victoria Falls.
THE RHINO SAFARI
Day 1: Victoria Falls
On arrival in Victoria Falls you are met and transferred to the
Ilala Lodge. the afternoon is at leisure to explore the Falls or
take an optional Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River. In
the evening your guide will meet with the group for a pre safari
briefing.
Days 2 to 4: Hwange National Park
Travel south by road to Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe's largest
wildlife sanctuary. Here we spend our time game viewing and
birding on nature drives, at waterholes, and on walks n the
Makalolo area. We may see Elephant, Buffalo, Sable Antelope,
Cheetah, lion, leopard or Wild Dog. accommodations at the
exclusive Makalolo Bush Camp within Hwange National Park.
Days 5 and 6: Chizarira National Park
From Hwange we fly to the rugged Chizarira National Park, one of
Zimbabwe's most remote and least accessible reserves,
spectacularly located on the escarpment of the Zambezi Valley.
Our time will be spent tracking Elephant, Lion, leopard and
Buffalo. the camp is pre erected in a remote bush site.
Days 7 to 9: Matusadona National Park - Lake
Kariba
Today, transfer by light aircraft to Matusadona National Park on
the shores of Lake Kariba. Here we camp for three nights
spending time on drives and walks, viewing large concentrations
of Buffalo, elephant and other animals. Here is the best
opportunity to see Black Rhino.
Days 10 to 12: Mana Pools National Park
Early this morning we board a motorboat to the town of Kariba
and then fly to Mana Pools. The canoe safari begins near
Ruckomechi. gliding silently down the mighty Zambezi River in
Mana Pools is one of the high points of the safari. No previous
experience is necessary but a sense of adventure is essential.
Elephant, Hippos and Crocodiles are seen at the waters edge.
overnight at secluded, fully serviced camps each night.
Day 13: End of Safari
After breakfast you will be flown back to Kariba Airport by mid
t late afternoon to connect with your onward flight.
